Format

The painting Unity is one of the purest and most abstract works of the author. It does not work with a figurative motif or a specific story - its essence is the depiction of a principle , not an event. The composition is central and symmetrical , which in the history of art is a clear sign of sacred, meditative or cosmological content.

The center of the painting is a bright circle , around which a gently rhythmic flow of colored lines unfolds. The whole resembles an energy field that has no beginning or end – only pulsation and circulation.

The painting does not appear static, although it is perfectly balanced. Quite the opposite: it creates the impression of constant movement in stillness .

Line

Short, dotted, interrupted strokes are used that:

  • never form sharp boundaries,
  • they do not carry aggression or tension,
  • they evoke a gentle ripple or flow .

These lines follow curves that converge and diverge again – similar to the lines of force in a magnetic or toroidal field.

Rhythm

The rhythm of the painting is pulsating , not mechanical. The repetition of colors and directions creates the impression of breath:

  • expansion → return,
  • radiation → collection.

It is the visual equivalent of the rhythms we know from nature: heartbeat, breathing, ebb and flow.

Space

The space is not illusory (it is not about depth in the painterly sense), but energetic . The center is "empty", but at the same time the fullest - it is the source of all that is happening.

The central circle – the principle of unity

The white or light circle in the center of the image can be read in several ways:

  • as a zero field point (in modern symbolic language),
  • like shunyata – creative emptiness in Buddhism,
  • as the One in Neoplatonic philosophy,
  • as the divine center in Christian mysticism.

Importantly, the center is not an “object” but a state – a place where all opposites dissolve.

Flowing fields around the center

The colored streams around the center symbolize:

  • diversity of forms,
  • pluralism of expressions,
  • movement of life.

At the same time, however, they never break away from the center. This is the key meaning of the image: all diversity remains anchored in unity .

From a perceptual perspective, the image has a significant stabilizing and calming effect :

  • symmetry reduces cognitive stress,
  • Circular movements promote a sense of security,
  • the absence of sharp contrasts does not force the eye to "fight".
